Arsenal may consider a swap deal with Robin van Persie for Real Madrid's Karim Benzema if the Gunners striker decides to leave, according to reports.

Arsenal are believed to be pondering a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is thought to be keen on the Bernabeu hitman following his comments stating that Arsenal will have money available in the January transfer window.

The interest could lead to a potential swap deal with Robin van Persie, if the Dutchman decides to leave the Emirates, according to the Daily Mail.

Benzema has netted 14 goals for Jose Mourinho's side in his last 23 appearances for the club this season.
