Arsenal 'agree deal for Hertha Berlin defender Omar Rekik'

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal to sign centre-back Omar Rekik from Hertha Berlin.

The two clubs have already done business with each other on deadline day as Matteo Guendouzi moved to the Bundesliga outfit on a season-long loan.

As part of the negotiations, the Daily Mail reports that Arsenal also struck a deal for 18-year-old Rekik worth around £900,000.

The Dutch defender has previous experience of English football, having spent time in Manchester City's academy earlier in his career.

Rekik is now expected to undergo a medical with Arsenal before completing his move prior to tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.

The youngster will initially join up with the Gunners' Under-23 squad instead of going straight into the first-team set-up.

Arsenal are also thought to be closing in on the signing of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.
