How Arsenal could line up against Watford

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta should have Emile Smith Rowe back at his disposal for Sunday's Premier League clash with Watford on Sunday at Vicarage Road.

The 21-year-old contracted an illness before last week's late win over Wolverhampton Wanderers but has been pictured in training and will expect to make the squad for the weekend.

As a result, the Gunners should only have Takehiro Tomiyasu to worry about, with the Japan international injuring his calf barely a week after recovering from a similar issue on his other leg.

However, Cedric Soares has demonstrated a marked improvement in his performances recently and ought to form an unchanged back four with Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes and Kieran Tierney once more.

Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey will form their effective partnership in the engine room, with Martin Odegaard just ahead of the duo as he continues to prove his worth to the North London club.

Bukayo Saka's spot on the right is not up for debate, and Smith Rowe will hope to edge out Gabriel Martinelli and super sub Nicolas Pepe for his rightful place on the left.

Eddie Nketiah's impact was also felt when he was brought on for the dying embers against Wolves, but captain Alexandre Lacazette will still expect to start this one.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Lacazette
