Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Burnley on Sunday.

Arsenal will be desperate to give their fans something to cheer when Burnley pay a visit to the Emirates for Sunday afternoon's Premier League contest.

Mikel Arteta's side were outgunned and outfought against Liverpool in the EFL Cup in midweek, with Diogo Jota's double sending the Reds to the final.

Now turning their attention back to Premier League action, Arsenal - whose most recent clash versus Tottenham Hotspur was postponed - remain firmly in top-four contention, currently sixth in the table with two games in hand on fourth-placed West Ham United.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Clarets.

Calum Chambers was another casualty of the EFL Cup semi-final first leg and did not take part in midweek due to a neck issue, with the quick turnaround likely rendering him unavailable for this one too.

Possible return date: January 23 (vs. Burnley)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has affirmed that his heart is fine following a scare over a post-COVID cardiac complication - the Gabon international has returned to Arsenal from the Africa Cup of Nations but may still require more time to build up his fitness.

Second-choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno could once again be absent with the back problem that kept him out of the squad in midweek, although he is thought to be on the verge of an exit anyway.

Thomas Partey endured quite the rollercoaster 24 hours on Thursday - arriving back in London in the morning, making the bench for the visit of Liverpool and seeing red as a substitute for two bookable offences - so the Ghana international joins Xhaka on the naughty step here.
