Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Arsenal injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Still boasting a perfect Premier League record in 2024, Arsenal head to Bramall Lane for Monday night's battle with Sheffield United.

Mikel Arteta's men made light work of Newcastle United at the Emirates last Saturday night, running out 4-1 winners courtesy of a Sven Botman own goal and efforts from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Jakub Kiwior.

Despite winning each of their last six games in the division, the Gunners remain third in the table heading into the next gameweek, one point worse off than Manchester City and two adrift of leaders Liverpool.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with the rock-bottom Blades, who fell to a 1-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their most recent affair.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: March 4 (vs. Sheffield United)

Oleksandr Zinchenko suffered another calf injury against Liverpool on February 4 and has not been seen on the field since, but Arteta confirmed in his pre-game press conference that the Ukrainian has a chance of making his comeback at Bramall Lane.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: March 4 (vs. Sheffield United)

Similarly, the knock that Takehiro Tomiyasu suffered during the latter stages of Japan's Asian Cup run might settle down in time for Monday's game, but the Gunners will carefully assess the injury-plagued defender over the weekend before making a decision.

Jurrien Timber

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Jurrien Timber took part in a training session at the Emirates with his teammates as he steps up his recovery from an ACL issue, but he is severely lacking match fitness and will not be considered for selection for a while yet.

Thomas Partey

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: March 4 (vs. Sheffield United)

Thomas Partey has been absent since the end of October due to a thigh operation, but having now taken part in full training for over a week with no complications, Arteta has confirmed that the midfielder should be in contention to make the matchday squad against the Blades.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no suspended players for this match.
