Team News: Theo Walcott starts from bench for Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has decided against bringing Theo Walcott back into the starting XI for today's visit of Southampton.

The former Saints player has been out with injury and was expected to take his place on the pitch. However, Wenger has instead brought in Jack Wilshere to replace Mathieu Flamini, who is suspended.

Defender Per Mertesacker returns, with Thomas Vermaelen dropping out.

Southampton have made just the one change, as Jos Hooiveld comes in to replace Dejan Lovren at the heart of defence.

Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert again start, meaning Dani Osvaldo is on the bench.
