Everton will be looking to end a 37-year winless run when they travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Wedneday.

Everton will attempt to bring a 37-year winless run to an end when they face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

The Toffees have already beaten the Gunners this month, securing a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park in Sean Dyche's first game in charge.

Since that result, Everton have claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Leeds United, but they have also lost to their local rivals Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Saturday's defeat to Unai Emery's Villa side represented Dyche's first home loss as Everton manager, and as a result, the Toffees dropped into the relegation zone.

Everton will embark on a run of six tricky Premier League fixtures, beginning with an away trip to the Premier League leaders.

Everton have never won a Premier League away match against the side that has started the day at the top of the table.

The last time the Toffees claimed an away league win over the top-flight leaders was against Wimbledon 37 years ago.

While Everton will be desperate to end that barren spell on Wednesday, their recent away record against Arsenal does not offer too much cause for optimism.

A narrow 1-0 victory in April 2021 represents the only time Everton have emerged victorious in their last 26 away league meetings with the Gunners.

They have also struggled to pick up points on their travels this season, winning just one of their 11 top-flight away matches.

However, the presence of Dyche in the dugout could be a deciding factor as the 51-year-old has only lost one of his last six games against Arsenal as manager.

After heading home the winner in the reverse fixture, James Tarkowski will be aiming to become the first Everton player since Tomasz Radzinski in the 2003-04 campaign to score home and away against the Gunners in the same season.

Everton will travel to North London without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is set to miss a fourth consecutive game through injury.

The visitors will also be without the services of James Garner, Nathan Patterson and Andros Townsend.
