Granit Xhaka "really proud" to play for Arsenal

Granit Xhaka opens up about his switch from Borussia Monchengladbach to Arsenal, claiming that he is "doubly proud" to have joined such a big club.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has admitted that he is "proud to play for such a club" after quickly adapting to life at the Emirates Stadium.

The Switzerland international has made nine appearances for the Gunners since joining in a £33m deal from Borussia Monchengladbach early in the summer window.

Xhaka, who won over supporters with long-range strikes in back-to-back games last month, is confident that he made the right choice in joining Arsenal after being linked with numerous clubs.

"I'm really enjoying it here. Everything goes as planned, and things are really well planned here, regardless of if we are playing home or away," he said in a Twitter Q&A session with supporters.

"You can see it's a club with a lot of class and that shows with everything. I'm very proud to play for such a club, to be a Gunner. That makes me doubly proud to have joined this team. It's the perfect path."

Xhaka featured for Switzerland in their 2-1 win over Andorra on Monday and is expected to play a part in Arsenal's Premier League meeting with Swansea City on Saturday.
