Willian Borges da Silva's agent Kia Joorabchian has criticised Arsenal after his client's contract was terminated on mutual agreement.
Arsenal confirmed Monday that the player had given up his £22million contract following a disappointing 12 months in north London.
"I think Willian did the right thing," Joorabchian said to talkSPORT. "He went for the project and the project wasn't there.
"Unfortunately, I'd have to say, which player has moved to Arsenal that has not been a disaster in the last couple of years? That one I speak as a fan
"I don't think this is about Willian. I think something has gone wrong [at Arsenal] and this is just one piece of the puzzle."
Despite the criticism, Joorabchian insisted that he did not blame Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
"Nobody blames Arteta," he added. "We all want Arteta to do well. Even as fans, they might be disgruntled at the moment but they want the best for the football club. Willian wants all the success for Arteta and this Arsenal team."
The Brazilian has now joined his boyhood club Corinthians. He issued an apology to his fans via his Instagram account on Tuesday, admitting that things did not work out well.
"Corinthians is a perfect marriage," Joorabchian continued. "They have 40 million fans, he began his career at the club..."
The move ended Willian's eight-year stay in England, during which he helped his team win two Premier League titles, an FA Cup crown and the 2018-19 Europa League. He netted 36 goals as an Arsenal player.
