Arsene Wenger: 'Top-four finish will be difficult'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that it will be difficult for his team to finish in the top four following Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has conceded that it will be difficult for his team to finish in the top four in the Premier League following Sunday's defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners were beaten 2-1 at White Hart Lane to slip five points off the Champions League places.

"My team produced a lot of energy and desire but we were not decisive enough in either penalty area," Wenger told BBC Sport.

"I feel sorry for the team and the fans. It's difficult to swallow.

"We have to fight. It will be difficult to come in the top four now as we dropped points we couldn't afford to drop."

Arsenal return to league action on March 16 when they travel to Swansea City.
