Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he believes today's crop of Premier League players are under "much more stress" compared to the days when he was playing.
The Frenchman, who has been a football coach since 1984, is seven months away from entering his 20th year as manager of the Gunners.
The 65-year-old has identified how aspects of training have changed and how decision-making in the game is at a much quicker pace.
In an interview with the club's official website, Wenger said: "The time to make decisions has been shortened, therefore everything has to be quicker, everything is under more pressure, the players are under much more stress than they were 20 years ago - physical and mental stress as well. Therefore I would say the preparation has to be more perfect than it was 20 years ago."
Arsenal finished the league season third in the table.
