Arsenal Wenger hits back at "ridiculous" Gary Neville over tactics jibe

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger laughs off Gary Neville's "ridiculous" claim that he pays little heed to tactics by pointing to his longevity in English football.

Manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that he will continue to tolerate Gary Neville's assessments on Arsenal - even if they are "really ridiculous".

The ex-Manchester United defender previously questioned the Gunners' mentality in the build-up to big games, and suggested that tactics did not play a big role in Wenger's preparation.

The North Londoners went on to beat the Red Devils 3-0 two days later following a rip-roaring first 20 minutes at the Emirates, and Wenger - in his 19th year as Arsenal manager - believes that his longevity speaks for itself.

"We just turn up on Saturday, just go out and play," the Frenchman is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"Honestly, I am 30 years in this job. I have a good tolerance level to sometimes listen to things that are really ridiculous. Honestly. I can do it."

Wenger's men, who sit second in the Premier League table, two points behind Manchester City, face Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening.
