Arsene Wenger "confident" Bacary Sagna will stay at Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he is "confident" that right-back Bacary Sagna will sign a new contract at the club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that the club will be able to keep hold of full-back Bacary Sagna.

The Frenchman's future has been up in the air over the last few months as his contract expires in the summer.

While Manchester City have been among the clubs linked with a swoop for the 31-year-old, Wenger believes that Sagna will sign fresh terms at the Emirates.

"I'm confident Sagna will stay, but we will accept his decision and go with it," Wenger told reporters in Friday's press conference.

Previous reports have stated that Sagna believes that he deserves a larger increase in wages.
