Thomas Vermaelen "very happy" with Tomas Rosicky extension

Vermaelen happy with Rosicky extension

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has praised teammate Tomas Rosicky after the Czech midfielder agreed a new contract at the club.

Vermaelen believes that the 33-year-old is one of the most gifted players at Arsenal and admits that he is looking forward to continuing to work with him.

"I know him now for a long time, I like him a lot and I'm very happy that he has signed a new contract," the Belgian told the club's official website.

"For me, you talk about big players who come to the club like [Mesut] Ozil or Santi [Cazorla] and they are technically incredible players. But for me, Rosicky is technically almost perfect.

"His basic technique is always good and it is such a nice thing to see on the pitch or in training. His first touch is incredible, he rarely makes a mistake."

Rosicky joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in 2006.
