Robin Van Persie scores fastest Premier League goal this season

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has scored the fastest goal of the current Premier League season.

The Dutch striker found the net in just 29 seconds during this afternoon's match with Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium.

Norwich City's Anthony Pilkington had previously scored the weekend's quickest goal during his side's 3-1 win over Swansea City yesterday.

The fastest ever goal in the Premier League was scored by Tottenham Hotspur defender Ledley King, who found the net in ten seconds against Bradford City during the 2001/02 season.
