Wojceich Szczesny: 'I don't know why I stayed on the pitch'

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojceich Szczesny has admitted he was surprised not to be sent off during the Gunners' 5-3 victory over Chelsea yesterday.

Szczesny brought down Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole just as the Englishman appeared to be through on goal, but referee Andre Marriner opted to only show the Pole a yellow card.

The towering stopper later confessed on his Twitter page that he does not know why he was not sent off.

"I don't know why I stayed on the pitch but WHAT A GAME!!" he wrote.

Szczesny has made 39 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal since making his debut in September 2009.
