Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has reportedly responded well to being left out of the Gunners' squad during their 4-0 win over Newcastle United earlier this month.

The 20-year-old was not selected after he was said to have been involved in argument with Mikel Arteta and director of football Edu during the club's recent trip to Dubai.

According to The Mirror, the club feel that his response to the disciplinary move has been highly impressive and still believe that he can become a top player.

Guendouzi returned to the Arsenal side from the start in midweek against Olympiacos and came off the bench against Everton on Sunday.

Since arriving from Lorient last summer, the Frenchman has made 76 appearances for the club.

Guendouzi was also picked for the French senior squad for the first time earlier this season but is yet to make his debut.
