Arsenal line up Roberto Martinez as Arsene Wenger replacement?

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is reportedly lined up by Arsenal as a potential successor to Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal have reportedly tagged Everton manager Roberto Martinez as Arsene Wenger's eventual successor.

Wenger is expected to extend his contract at the Emirates, but the Frenchman is said to be impressed by Martinez, who joined Everton from Wigan Athletic last summer.

According to the Daily Star, the Gunners hierarchy have held discussions about Martinez possibly replacing Wenger, whose new deal is expected to run for two years.

Officials at the club are said to have been particularly impressed by Martinez's conduct following Everton's 4-1 defeat in the FA Cup quarter-final last weekend.

Martinez put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Goodison Park following David Moyes's move to Manchester United.
