Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez says that Arsenal's first-team squad are fully in support of Granit Xhaka, amid his angry outburst towards supporters last weekend.

Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has talked up the character of Arsenal teammate Granit Xhaka, describing the midfielder as 'a lovely guy'.

Last weekend, Xhaka reacted angrily to supporters cheering his substitution against Crystal Palace, which has subsequently led to uncertainty regarding the future of the club captain.

Despite question marks remaining over how Unai Emery will attempt to resolve the situation, Martinez has reiterated that Xhaka retains the support of the dressing room.

Martinez is quoted by The Guardian as saying: "He's a lovely guy, he's a bit devastated because he has got a good family, a good heart and he loves the club.

"When someone goes through that, we have to support him and we are together."

Emery is yet to reveal whether Xhaka will play any part of Arsenal's Premier League encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
