Laurent Koscielny makes return to Arsenal squad

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Laurent Koscielny is back in contention for a return to action this weekend.

Koscielny has yet to play for Arsenal this season after picking up a problem in a pre-season friendly against Cologne, but is the back in the squad to play Liverpool on Sunday.

Wenger also revealed that goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will have a fitness check this week after missing the draw with Stoke City with a rib injury.

He said: "Koscielny will be back in the squad definitely.

"Szczesny has a test tomorrow and Saturday. Everybody else should be alright."

Arsenal head to Anfield looking for their first win of the season after opening their campaign with two successive 0-0 draws.
