Peter Hill-Wood: Arsene Wenger’s job at Arsenal not in jeopardy

Hill-Wood: ‘Sacking Wenger is nonsense’

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood insists he is "happy" with Arsene Wenger remaining as manager.

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has said that suggestions Arsene Wenger could be given the boot at Arsenal are “utter rubbish”.

The Frenchman’s position has come under question after losing talisman Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, as well as suffering an 8-2 thrashing at the hands of Manchester United.

Despite the increasing pressure on the 61-year-old to turn around the Gunners' fortunes, Hill-Wood admitted that all relevant parties are “happy” with Wenger.

"It's complete and utter rubbish and absolute nonsense [that Wenger would be sacked]. I think he is happy enough and we are happy enough," The Daily Star quotes Hill-Wood as saying.

"We have brought some new players in and although I don't know that much about many of them I think, generally speaking, they are going to improve the squad.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal resume their Premier League campaign this weekend with a home fixture against Swansea.
