Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud "relieved" at scoring against West Ham United

Olivier Giroud is "relieved" to score his first Premier League goal for Arsenal in their 3-1 win at West Ham United on Saturday.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has admitted that he is "relieved" to break his duck in the Premier League.

The Frenchman scored in the Gunners' 3-1 comeback victory over West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday.

"I am so happy tonight to score my first goal and to assist my friend Theo [Walcott]," he told ESPN. "I am very happy. I feel relieved now and I hope many goals will now come.

"Everyone talked to me about this goal, everyone said: 'There's a goal coming soon, don't worry, we trust you,' and I remained confident, and I kept going, concentrated on the work in training and the game. So I remain confident."

Arsenal are now fifth in the Premier League table with 12 points from seven matches, seven points off the pace.
