Watford boss Quique Flores hails Arsene Wenger longevity at Arsenal

Quique Flores feels that Spanish clubs could learn from Arsenal by the way in which they have staunchly backed Arsene Wenger, who is 19 years in the job.

Watford boss Quique Flores has hailed Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger for his longevity in English football, claiming that two decades in the job is nigh-on impossible in other countries.

The French manager, who takes the Gunners to Vicarage Road on Saturday, has been in North London since 1996.

Primera Division giants Real Madrid have appointed 18 managers since Wenger took over, and the Hornets boss feels that Arsenal represent a paradigm of stability and that La Liga clubs should take note.

"In Spain it is difficult to ever think of a manager managing for 20 years," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We live in another philosophy. We think in another philosophy. Sometimes in Spain we don't wait until the end of the season to change."

Wenger's troops sit second in the Premier League table, six points ahead of 12th-placed Watford.
