Arsene Wenger reveals reason behind Santi Cazorla substitution

Arsene Wenger reveals that dizziness was the reason behind Santi Cazorla's half-time substitution in Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he substituted Santi Cazorla midway through Sunday's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates because he was "dizzy".

The Spanish midfielder, 30, was replaced by Mathieu Flamini at the break in a surprise move by Wenger, who said that the decision was not tactical.

"I was sitting there thinking, do I take him off or not? You never know, maybe it will get better," he told Sky Sports News. "At half-time I took him off, and in the second half we had a bit better balance.

"He is not sick. He was just dizzy and could not move, you could see that on the pitch. Cazorla, who is usually the guide in our game, didn't get the ball.

"I hope it is nothing bad, but it does not look like it, because he says he is alright now."

Kieran Gibbs, another second-half sub, struck on 77 minutes as the Gunners denied Spurs all three points after Harry Kane opened the scoring on 32 minutes.
