Arsenal midfielder Chuks Aneke believes that re-joining Crewe Alexandra on loan will help him to improve as a footballer.

Chuks Aneke has claimed that re-joining Crewe Alexandra on loan will help maximise his potential.

The 20-year-old Arsenal midfielder agreed a six-month loan move back to Gresty Road on Friday, having enjoyed two loan spells with the League One side last season.

After witnessing Ashley Westwood, Nick Powell and Luke Murphy secure moves to Premier League and Championship sides, Aneke believes that playing for Crewe will improve him as a player.

"I see those players that have moved on, that's football and good players will rise," he told BBC Radio Stoke.

"I hope that's the same for myself, I've come here to improve my game. I want to play football, and I know I did quite a lot of that last year.

"The only way you improve is by playing games and obviously Crewe were good to me last season so I want some more of that."

Aneke made 38 appearances for Crewe last season.
