Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Arsenal injury, suspension list vs. Brighton

Arsenal will kick off their quest for EFL Cup glory when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Emirates Stadium for Wednesday's third-round clash.

The Gunners rose back to the top of the Premier League table after a deserved 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with Gabriel Magalhaes scoring the only goal of the game.

Mikel Arteta's side are now bidding to end a 30-year drought without an EFL Cup honour, having been knocked out in the semi-finals by Liverpool last year.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Seagulls, who have already beaten Forest Green Rovers 3-0 in the EFL Cup.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscular Possible return date: Unknown

Takehiro Tomiyasu came off with a muscular problem against FC Zurich in Thursday's Europa League win and was not involved in the weekend's game with Chelsea. The severity of the 23-year-old's issue has not been disclosed, but he is not expected to take part in the EFL Cup amid concerns over his World Cup participation.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: Unknown

Emile Smith Rowe should be Arsenal's only other absentee for the cup game, with the Englishman still a few weeks away from returning to training after groin surgery.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match.
