Arsene Wenger "sad" after FA Cup exit

Arsenal could not have produced much more during their FA Cup exit at the hands of Watford, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that his Arsenal players could not have given any more during their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Watford this afternoon.

The holders dominated the possession and chances at the Emirates Stadium, but ended up losing the game 2-1.

"Our fantastic run has come to an end on a day where we felt that our performance deserved a win," the Arsenal boss told BT Sport.

"Credit to Watford, they created few chances but took them all. It's sad because we gave everything."

The defeat was Arsenal's first in the competition since 2013.
