Jesus, Nketiah start in strong Arsenal XI against PSV

Arsenal strikers Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have both been named in a strong first XI for the visit of PSV Eindhoven in Europa League Group A.

The Gunners only need a point against Ruud van Nistelrooy's side to guarantee a top-two finish in the group, and Mikel Arteta has named an experienced starting lineup.

A total of six changes are made from Sunday's 1-0 win over Leeds United, as Matt Turner continues his continental duties by replacing Aaron Ramsdale in goal.

Takehiro Tomiyasu holds his place in the side but switches over to the right-hand side, as Kieran Tierney comes back in for his 100th Arsenal appearance.

William Saliba makes way for the returning Rob Holding, who partners Gabriel Magalhaes, while Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga will form the double pivot.

Fabio Vieira unsurprisingly takes the place of Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Martinelli has been passed fit to make the bench despite a scare over illness and a calf injury.

Despite the presence of Reiss Nelson, Arteta has seemingly selected Jesus to start on the left-hand side, with Bukayo Saka on the right and Nketiah acting as the focal point of the attack.

On the other hand, the Gunners could potentially line up in a 4-4-2, with the versatile Vieira and Saka occupying the wide areas.

Arsenal starting lineup: Turner; Tomiyasu, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Lokonga; Saka, Vieira, Jesus; Nketiah

Subs: Ramsdale, Hein, White, Cedric, Saliba, Partey, Cirjan, Odegaard, Nelson, Marquinhos, Martinelli, Edwards

PSV starting lineup: Benitez; Mwene, Ramalho, Obispo, Max; Sangare, Gutierrez, Veerman; Simons, Til, Gakpo

Subs: Drommel, Hoever, Mauro Junior, Teze, Branthwaite, Waterman, Savio, Bakayoko, Ledezma, Madueke, El Ghazi, De Jong
