AFC Wimbledon sign Darren Jones

AFC Wimbledon sign defender Darren Jones, following his departure from Shrewsbury Town.

AFC Wimbledon have completed the signing of former Shrewsbury Town defender Darren Jones.

The 30-year-old has linked up with the Dons after leaving Shrewsbury on Tuesday to search for first-team football.

"The feedback I've had is that he's been Shrewsbury's best centre-back this season so it's a massive coup for us," Dons manager Neal Ardley told BBC Sport.

"There were one or two other clubs that were desperate to get his signature and we're absolutely delighted to have signed Darren."

The League Two side have not disclosed the length of Jones's contract.
