Alessandro Nesta to leave AC Milan

Alessandro Nesta has announced his intention to leave AC Milan at the end of the season.

The 36-year-old centre-half has spent 10 years at the San Siro but is seeking a move away in order to gain more regular football.

"The high pace of the Italian league, the Champions League and the Italian Cup means that I can't play all the time," he said.

"I am not one to sit and wait on the bench."

Nesta hinted that he would be in favour of a move to the MLS.
