Gianluigi Donnarumma display denies Atalanta BC win against AC Milan

Gianluigi Donnarumma produces a fine display for AC Milan to deny Atalanta BC the three points at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as the match ends goalless.

Atalanta BC were denied a victory on the trip to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as a fine goalkeeping display from Gianluigi Donnarumma earned AC Milan a 0-0 draw in their Serie A clash.

Alejandro Gomez was the first player to threaten in the match when he raided forward and carved out space for a strike, but unfortunately for the visitors he dragged his strike wide.

Carlos Bacca could have put the home side ahead as he latched on to a cross at the back post, and took a touch to get the ball on his right foot. However, Gabriel Paletta managed to get back and make a crucial block in the six-yard box.

Milan almost found a way through to goal when the ball fell kindly to Mbaye Niang in his tussle with Cristian Raimondi down the left, but the 20-year-old's strike at goal was well saved by Marco Sportiello.

In the second half, Niang caused problems again for the visitors and this time he rifled an effort at goal from outside the box, but Donnarumma showed good handling to claim the ball.

Atalanta were denied a penalty when Gomez went down in the area, which resulted in a booking for the forward. However, replays suggested that he was fouled by De Sciglio.

Luca Cigarini had the chance to put the visitors ahead when he pounced on the ball from inside the box, but his strike at goal was saved by Donnarumma, and the midfielder put his rebound over the bar.

The Milan keeper made another fine stop minutes later to keep Maximiliano Gomez's volley out, while from the resulting corner Marten de Roon fired his effort into the side-netting.

Grassi was the next Atalanta player to be denied by Donnarumma as he blasted a low strike towards goal, but the keeper made the stop with his feet to divert the ball away from goal.

Sinisa Mihajlovic's men almost made the visitors pay for their poor finishing when Luiz Adriano rose highest in the box to power a header at goal, but he saw his effort cleared off the line.

Milan pushed late in the game and almost stole the three points on the counter as Alessio Cerci rounded Sportiello, but he slammed his effort into the side-netting as both sides settled for a point.
