Clarence Seedorf: 'Genoa match is important'

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf says that his side's match against Genoa this evening is their most difficult left this season.

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf has said that his side's Serie A match against Genoa this evening is their most difficult left this season.

The Rossoneri will move back into the top half of the table with a win at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, and Seedorf is aware of how important the game is to their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League.

"The team is improving and trying to push harder," he told reporters. "Milan are not accustomed to being in these positions, but seeing the situation there is an improvement.

"This is the most difficult game of the next seven and that's how we tried to prepare for this match. The pressure is always the same, but with daily work and concentration we have been focused, especially with no midweek commitments.

"Genoa are the same side that made life extremely difficult for Juventus, so we're expecting that performance and not the one that saw them lose to Verona last week. This is a very important tie."

Seedorf has won six of his first 12 games as Milan manager.
