Alexandre Pato given Filippo Inzaghi's number nine

Alexandre Pato has distanced himself from talk of a move away from AC Milan after being given Filippo Inzaghi's number nine shirt.

The Brazilian has been rumoured to be a target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer, but said that he has no plans to leave the San Siro.

Pato, previously the number seven, was delighted to hear that he will be given the Milan legend's shirt number for the new Serie A season.

"I am very happy with the Rossoneri," said Pato. "I hope that the number nine left to me by Inzaghi can bring me luck, as I want to score many goals.

"Nobody knows the future, but I can only say that I am very happy at Milan."

The forward has scored 51 goals in 113 games since his big-money move from Internacional in 2007.
