AC Milan are reportedly considering making Denmark centre-back Simon Kjaer captain of the club after he displayed heroic actions to help save Christian Eriksen's life.

AC Milan are reportedly considering making Denmark defender Simon Kjaer captain of the club after he showed his leadership qualities when Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on Saturday.

Kjaer was the first person to attend to Eriksen after he suffered a cardiac arrest and made sure that his national teammate did not swallow his own tongue while lying unconscious on the pitch.

The centre-back also briefly performed CPR on Eriksen while they awaited medical assistance, and Kjaer then turned his attention to protecting Eriksen's privacy by instructing his teammates to form a circle around their teammate.

The Daily Mail reports that Kjaer's club AC Milan are now considering whether to give the 32-year-old the captain's armband after his heroic efforts to help Eriksen.

Current AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli is no longer a regular starter for the Italian giants and vice-captain Gianluigi Donnarumma is reportedly set to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Kjaer arrived in Milan initially on loan in January 2020 but made his move from Sevilla permanent last summer for £3.5m.
