San Antonio Spurs hire ESPN analyst

The San Antonio Spurs have hired former ESPN analyst Dave Telep as a scouting coordinator.

Telep left the cable television company recently following a role in which he evaluated the personal performances of players during games.

The Spurs are believed to have moved for Telep due to his strong links with contacts in both the high school and college leagues.

San Antonio, who lost in last season's finals to the Miami Heat, begin the new campaign by hosting the Memphis Grizzlies on October 30.
