Carmelo Anthony leads New York Knicks to victory

The New York Knicks keep up their impressive start to 2014 with a 102-92 triumph over the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden.

The New York Knicks recorded just their sixth home success of the season with a 102-92 victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday night.

It was the Heat who made the better start at Madison Square Garden and the defending champions led by five midway through the game.

Miami, who were without Mario Chalmers and Shane Battier, once again relied on LeBron James as the four-time MVP scored 32 points.

The Knicks took control of the contest with a 16-2 run either side of the third and fourth quarter to carry a lead into the closing stages.

Tyson Chandler was out due to illness and JR Smith was left on the bench but Carmelo Anthony made up for their absences by scoring 29 points and claiming eight rebounds.

Raymond Felton provided good support with 13 points and 14 assists as the hosts made sure the Heat could not produce a late fightback to salvage the game in New York.
