JR Smith to wear protective mask

The New York Knicks have announced that JR Smith will wear a protective mask in today's game against the Sacramento Kings.

The guard sustained the injury during Sunday's defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder during a collision with Kevin Durant.

The team confirmed that Smith was fitted for the mask yesterday, which will allow him to take to the court this evening.

Smith has averaged 17.6 points during his last five games.
