Carmelo Anthony confident New York Knicks will make playoffs

Carmelo Anthony insists that the New York Knicks will make the playoffs next season but he isn't setting any particular goals thereafter.

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has insisted that the franchise will "absolutely" make the playoffs next season after re-signing with the team this summer.

New head coach Derek Fisher is expected to reinvent the Knicks' style of play and Anthony is confident that there is a bright future ahead.

"Yeah, I think so for sure. Absolutely. I can't wait to get started. No goals. Not setting any goals, but I just can't wait to get it back on," Anthony said, the New York Post reports.

The Knicks missed out on the playoffs last year after a dismal regular season, which ended with a 37-45 record as they failed to build on the success they enjoyed the previous campaign.
