Carmelo Anthony dismisses trade rumours

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has dismissed trade rumours linking him with a switch to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 29-year-old is a free agent at the end of the season and is expected to consider his options away from New York.

"There's always trade rumours to try and get [me and Chris Paul] together. It never happened, it was stupid and silly," he said, Newsday reports.

The Knicks are still confident that they will be able to re-sign Anthony this summer, although there is reported interest elsewhere in the league.
