Los Angeles Clippers fined $250,000 for DeAndre Jordan presentation

The Los Angeles Clippers have been fined $250,000 by the NBA for violating league regulations in their attempts to re-sign DeAndre Jordan.

The 26-year-old hit the free-agent market after an impressive 2014-15 season with Doc Rivers's men, which caught the attention of teams across the NBA.

Jordan was close to signing for the Dallas Mavericks, but reneged on his deal to re-sign with the Clippers on a maximum contract.

The league investigated the negotiations between the Clippers and Jordan, and found that during their pitch to the point guard they had improperly included a potential third-party endorsement opportunity, violating the league's rules.

As a result, Los Angeles have been fined $250,000 (£159,000) for breaching the regulations, although the NBA found that the endorsement opportunity did not have an impact on Jordan's decision to re-join Rivers's men.

Jordan averaged 11.5 points per game last season for the Clippers.
