LeBron James leads Cleveland Cavaliers to win

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James scores a season-high 42 to lead the team to a 110-99 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

LeBron James scored a season-high 42 to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to their 18th win in 20 games, beating the Golden State Warriors 110-99.

Stephen Curry kept the scores close early on, cancelling out the efforts of James in the first quarter, but the four-time MVP ensured that Cleveland dominated either side of half time.

The hosts were dealt a blow in the third quarter though when Kyrie Irving, who was also among the points with 24, injured his shoulder, forcing him out of the game.

Curry was unable to maintain his early momentum for the visitors, adding just six further points after scoring 12 in the first quarter, leaving the Western Conference leaders unable to mount a late charge.

The result moves Cleveland up to third in the Eastern Conference, while the Warriors stay top in the Western Conference, three wins clear of the Memphis Grizzlies.
