Curry speaks out on Lacob

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry believes that owner Joe Lacob's criticism of former coach Mark Jackson is a distraction for the team.

Lacob cited Jackson's inability to get along with others within the organisation as a fundamental reason behind the decision to fire him at the end of last season.

However, the Warriors owner has since apologised for his comments and insists that Jackson did a "terrific job" during his time with the franchise.

"I think it's unfortunate, just the distraction from what is going on right now. Obviously, we're playing well, and you can nitpick of what's the difference between this year and last year, but you're talking about two great coaches [in Jackson and current coach Steve Kerr]," Curry told the media.

Golden State are the only team with two guards averaging at least 20 points in the league, with Curry ranking in the top 10 scoring at 23.2 points per game while Klay Thompson is in the top 15 with 21.2 points per contest.
