Andy Murray: 'Rafael Nadal exit a warning to elite players'

Andy Murray reveals that he draws on the major Wimbledon upsets as his motivation to steer clear of a giant-killing.

Andy Murray has claimed that Rafael Nadal's shock Wimbledon defeat earlier this week is enough of a warning to keep him on his toes against lower-ranked players at SW19.

World number 102 Dustin Brown produced arguably the shock of the tournament thus far by beating the 14-time Grand Slam champion in four sets on Thursday.

Third seed Murray faces 27th-placed Andreas Seppi this evening, and the Scot says that what happened to Nadal should act as a warning to all of the elite players.

"When that happens, it's always a bit of a warning to everyone else," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"The depth of tennis just now is very high and upsets happen, and for sure they happen more than they did a few years ago."

The winner of Murray's match will face Ivo Karlovic in the last 16.
