Valenciennes, Toulouse draw blank

Valenciennes and Toulouse share a point in their goalless encounter in Ligue 1.

Valenciennes and Toulouse have played out a goalless draw at Stade du Hainaut.

Gregory Pujol had the game's first clear-cut chance after seven minutes but he failed to keep his shot on target.

Minutes later his Valenciennes teammate Carlos Sanchez tried his luck from outside the box, but he too could not hit the target.

Then on 20 minutes Toulouse had a good chance to take the lead but Etienne Capoue saw his header from close range saved.

Chances were few and far between for the remainder of the contest, with Adil Hermach's harmless shot on 55 minutes being the only notable incident in the opening minutes of the second half.

Toulouse's Franck Tabanou had his effort saved on 64 minutes, before Etienne Didot too was denied from 40 yards by Nicolas Penneteau.

There were precious little notable incidents during the rest of the game, as it trickled down to a goalless draw.
