Gazelec Ajaccio draw first top-flight game at Troyes

Gazelec Ajaccio earn a goalless draw in their first ever French top-flight game away to Troyes.

Gazelec Ajaccio have earned a point on their Ligue 1 debut after a goalless draw at Troyes.

GFC had to weather early pressure at Stade de L'Aube, with Yoann Court and Jessy Pi having first-half efforts saved by keeper Jules Stephane Goda.

The visitors had a chance of their own to take the lead before the break when David Ducourtioux went close.

Gazalec were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half time for a foul by Jonathan Pereira, but Mohamed Wael Larbi sent his spot kick over the crossbar.

Jimmy Cabot and Benjamin Nivet had late chances to snatch victory for the home side, but GFC were able to hold on for a point in their maiden top-flight appearance.
