Napoli confirm rejected Manchester City move for Edinson Cavani

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms that Manchester City submitted an offer for Edinson Cavani in the summer transfer window.

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that Edinson Cavani was close to joining Manchester City in the summer.

The former Premier League champions were linked with the Uruguay international during the summer window, but the forward eventually completed a £54m move to Paris Saint-Germain.

"Manchester City visited me in Rome, but they just offered around £29.9m so I didn't accept," De Laurentiis told Sky Sports News.

Meanwhile, the Serie A outfit are preparing to take on Arsenal in a Champions League group game this evening.
