Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that Edin Dzeko will play a big role for the club in the coming season.
It has been suggested that the Bosnian would seek pastures new following a difficult campaign in 2012-13, but the new City manager has backed the striker to "continue improving".
He told Sky Sports News: "Not only in Hong Kong. I have a lot of trust in him.
"Everyone was talking before I arrived that we will bring in [Edinson] Cavani, [Robert] Lewandowski, all those players.
"But I always trusted in Edin Dzeko and he is now playing the way I want. I am sure he will continue improving."
Dzeko scored the only goal in the final as City beat Sunderland to win the Asian Trophy on Saturday.
