Nicolai Muller and Andreas Ivanschitz put Mainz 2-0 up after just 21 minutes, but Per Nilsson halved the deficit five minutes from the half-time interval.

7.19pmMainz Starting Lineup: Wetklo, Svensson, Pospech, Noveski, Diaz, Rukavytsya, Baumgartlinger, Soto, Muller, Ivanschitz, Szalai

7.20pmNuremberg Starting Lineup: Rakovsky, Nilsson, Klose, Plattenhardt, Chandler, Simons, Balitsch, Gebhart, Kiyotake, Esswein, Pekhart

7.24pmThe man to look out for in tonight's match is Mainz forward Adam Szalai. He is the German Bundesliga?s joint-topscorer so far this season with eight goals.

7.25pmThe match is just around five minutes away from kickoff, so stay tuned to this page as we bring you all the action from what promises to be yet another entertaining Bundesliga fixture.

7.30pmThe kickoff has been postponed for 10 minutes because of traffic, so the game will start at 7.40pm instead of at 7.30pm.

7.38pmThe two sets of players are now coming on to the pitch, as the kickoff is just moments away...

1minAnd the match begins...

2minsNicolai Muller on the attack right from the start down the right flank and he does get inside the Nuremberg penalty area, but he is eventually dispossessed by Timothy Chandler.

5minsThe crowd is already in full voice at the Coface Arena, as both sides look comfortable on the ball at the moment.

6minsTimo Gebhart runs with the ball down the right flank for Nuremberg and sends Alexander Esswein through on goal, but the assistant referee raises his flag for offside.

9minsMainz looking the better of the two sides in the last two minutes, as they have created two moves that have troubled the Nuremberg defence.

10minsMuller earns a corner as he cuts inside from the right flank and has to be dispossessed in the final minute. He has looked very lively and very good in the opening minutes of the match.

12minsGOAL Nicolai Muller scores and makes it 1-0 to Mainz! He gets the ball on the right flank, runs past his marker, gets inside the Nuremberg penalty box and shoots past Peter Rakovsky.

14minsMuller has been the most prominent player on the pitch so far in this game and his goal is well taken as well. However, you do have to ask questions of the Nuremberg defence.

17minsYELLOW CARD The first caution of the match is given to Per Nilsson.

18minsThe Mainz supporters are in loud voice at the ground, as they are cheering their side for the second goal of the evening.

19minsI have not seen much of Adam Szalai in this game. He is the joint topscorer in the German Bundesliga with eight goals, remember.

20minsTimothy Chandler is down injured just on the edge of Nuremberg's penalty area following a challenge with Andreas Ivanschitz. The medics are in, and hopefully he will be back on his feet soon.

21minsGOAL Mainz score their second goal of the evening and make it 2-0! Andreas Ivanschitz is sent through on goal by Julian Baumgartlinger and he makes no mistake from close range,

23minsMidway through the first half, and Mainz are already 2-0 up. This could be a long night for Nuremberg. Oh, the second goal was brilliantly crafted, I must say, very precise passing from Baumgartlinger.

26minsIt is all Mainz at the moment, as Nuremberg are showing no imagination whatsoever.

30minsHalf an hour gone, and it is 2-0 to Mainz.

31minsTomas Pekhart goes close for Nuremberg! Hiroshi Kiyotak gallops down the right flank and floats in a cross that Pekhart heads towards goal, but fails to keep it on target.

32minsChristian Wetklo is forced to make a brilliant save between the Mainz posts, as Hiroshi Kiyotake takes an attempt from outside the box. That was a great curling shot from Kiyotake.

35minsThe visitors come close again! Kiyotake delivers a great ball that Per Nilsson heads towards the Mainz goal, but cannot keep it on target. Nuremberg are looking very dangerous at the moment.

36minsJust an update on the yellow card situations. Mainz's Junior Diaz and Nuremberg's Marvin Plattenhardt have been shown yellow cards in the last three or so minutes.

40minsGoal Nuremberg have finally scored and have halved the deficit. Kiyotake floats in a great delivery from a corner that Nilsson rises above his marker to powerfully head home.

41minsFour minutes left for the first half to end, and the match is now delicately poised. Nuremberg have been asking questions of the Mainz defence since the half-hour mark and, I have to say, they deservedly scored their first goal of the evening.

44minsKiyotake is on fire tonight! He cuts inside from the right and shoots on the Mainz goal from outside the penalty area, but fails to keep his shot on target.

45minsThe referee blows the half-time whistle and brings an end to the first-half action.

HTIt is 2-1 to Mainz at half-time at the Coface Arena. Nicolai Muller scored for the hosts in the 12th minute and Andreas Ivanschitz doubled their advantage on 21 minutes. However, Nuremberg refused to give up and came back strongly in the final 15 minutes of the half, and deservedly pulled one back through Per Nilsson on 40 minutes.

HTThe second half will start in a matter of minutes. Mainz lead 2-1 at home from the first half.

HTThe two sets of players are now on the pitch and are getting ready to kick things off in the second half.

46minsAnd the second half begins...

46minsMainz made a substitution at the break. Jan Kirchhoff has come on in place of Bo Svensson.

47minsOH! Mainz almost make it 3-1! Zdenek Pospech puts in a low cross from the right that Adam Szalai turns towards the Nuremberg goal, but cannot keep it on target.

48minsI think that is the first time I have seen Szalai take a proper attempt on goal in this match. He is in a red-hot form at the moment, so Nuremberg need to keep him under check.

50minsEnd-to-end stuff here, as this time Marvin Plattenhardt shoots on the Mainz goal from a narrow angle from the left, but Wetklo claims the ball with ease.

52minsThis is turning out to be yet another superbly entertaining Bundesliga match. At one point Nuremberg seemed dead and buried, but they are now causing Mainz all sorts of problems at the moment.

54minsNuremberg are forging their attacks down the left flank. Mainz need to be careful on that flank.

55minsAnother great chance for the visitors to make it 2-2, as Timothy Chandler floats in a cross from the right flank, but the Mainz defence eventually clear the danger away.

57minsMAINZ HIT THE CROSSBAR! Nicolai Muller floats in a good corner that Jan Kirchhoff powerfully heads towards the Nuremberg goal, but it comes off the crossbar. Oh, that could have been 3-1 to the hosts.

59minsElkin Soto earns a yellow card for his foul on Hiroshi Kiyotake.

60minsSUBSTITUTION. Mainz bring on Eugen Polanski in place of Nikita Rukavytsya.

61minsJust under half an hour remain in this pulsating Bundesliga game between Mainz and Nuremberg. It is 2-1 to the home side at the moment.

62minsJulian Baumgartlinger shoots from distance at the Nuremberg goal, but his attempt sails over the crossbar.

65minsYellow card shown to Mainz defender Nikolce Noveski.

66minsAlexander Esswein makes an ambitious attempt on the Mainz goal from distance, but his right-footed shot sails over the crossbar.

68minsOh, Mainz think that they have scored their third goal of the evening from a free kick but it is ruled out. 2-1 it remains to the hosts.

70mins20 minutes remain in this game, 20 minutes for Nuremberg to earn a point by scoring their second goal of the evening.

73minsKiyotake has been very influential for Nuremberg down the right flank, with his crosses, shots and corners. However, the visitors fail to capitalise on their successive corners.

74minsDouble change for Nuremberg. Sebastian Polter and Mike Frantz come on for Hanno Balitsch and Alexander Esswein.

75minsChandler takes a shot from outside the box, but his attempt goes yards wide. Wetklo is put under no problem whatsoever.

78minsMuller is back in the thick of the action, as he gallops down the right and earns Mainz a corner. Muller has blown hot and cold this evening.

79minsUh-oh... A brawl seemed to be starting between the two sets of players. It started following a clash between Muller and Kiyotake. Szalai came rushing to confront Kiyotake, but the referee quickly blew the fire out.

80minsSzalai and Kiyotake are shown yellow cards.

81minsEugen Polanski takes an attempt on the Nuremberg goal, but cannot keep it on target.

82minsSubstitution for Mainz. Ivanschitz comes off, and on comes Radoslav Zabavnik/

84minsHanno Balitsch, who is on the substitutes' bench, is shown the yellow card by the referee.

85minsFive minutes of normal time remain in this clash, five minutes for Mainz to hand on to their slender 2-1 lead, five minutes for Nuremberg to score the equaliser and take home a point.

88minsTwo minutes of normal time remain, both Mainz and Nuremberg going for the kill.

90minsThree minutes of injury time have been awarded.

90+3minsMULLER! He comes close to making it 3-1 to Mainz in the final minute of injury time!

FTIt's all over at the Coface Arena, as Main have defeated Nuremberg 2-1 in tonight's Bundesliga clash. Nicolai Muller and Andreas Ivanschitz put the hosts 2-0 up after just 21 minutes, but Per Nilsson halved the deficit five minutes from the half-time interval. Both sides had chances to add to the scoreline in the second half, but failed.
