Klopp: 'I have no doubts about Sturridge'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists that he has full faith in Daniel Sturridge following the striker's six-goal haul in pre-season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he has full faith in striker Daniel Sturridge ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

Sturridge had looked likely to leave Anfield this summer after being shipped out on loan to West Bromwich Albion for the second half of last season, playing just six games before once again being struck down by injury.

However, the 28-year-old has worked his way back in Klopp's thinking with six goals during pre-season, and the Liverpool boss is hopeful that he remains fit going into the new campaign.

"I can't remember a bad game from him in the pre-season, to be honest. That's absolutely good," Klopp told reporters at hie pre-match press conference.

"I said it probably 500 times already: if Daniel is fit, nobody doubts Daniel. So, I do not. He is here in a good shape and hopefully he can bring that into the season as well."

Liverpool will get their new season underway at home to West Ham United on Sunday.
