Chelsea 'told to pay £18m for Mohamed Simakan'

Chelsea are reportedly told that it will cost £18m to secure the signature of Strasbourg youngster Mohamed Simakan.

Chelsea have reportedly been informed how much it will cost to secure a deal for Strasbourg youngster Mohamed Simakan.

Having spent big during the summer transfer window, the Blues are likely to focus their attention on reducing their squad in January.

However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea are keeping tabs on potential additions for the future.

Di Marzio says that Strasbourg have told the Premier League giants that they want £18m if they are to agree to selling Simakan.

The 20-year-old has been a regular in the Ligue 1's side defence this season, making a total of 18 starts.

While there is little prospect of Simakan moving to Stamford Bridge in January, it appears that discussions have been held between the relevant parties.
